Bisphenol A Safety
Do the words “some concern” mean that something is really safe?
Are plastics dangerous or not? First the government said there is no problem. Now they’re saying there is “some concern.” Some independent sources are claiming that the safety studies were paid for by the chemical makers. Is that reassuring, or is it a conflict of interest?
The chemical in question is Bisphenol A (BPA), which is used primarily in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Translation—it’s the chemical used in manufacturing baby bottles, food cans, and dental sealants and composites. Here are some articles that give varying perspectives on this safety issue.
