Are you aware of the increasing problem of resistance to antibiotics? Many feel that bacteria that learn to resist antibiotics endanger human life. If you get a bacterial infection, whether or not your body will respond to the antibiotics prescribed by your physician may depend on both the quantity of antibiotics you have taken in the past AND on antibiotics in the meat and poultry you have eaten.
A coalition of consumer, environmental, scientific, and humane organizations successfully influenced the U.S. Food & Drug Association (FDA) to institute an order banning the off-label use of drugs in food-producing animals. This was to have taken effect November 30, 2008. However, after a number of agricultural-related organizations criticized this ban, the FDA revoked their earlier order on November 25, 2008,
